Recommendations and references to Stegu garden elements

Check the articles before the placing for any obvious deficiencies. Keep the articles stored in a dry place. Please note that we cannot acknowledge complaints because of recognizable deficiencies after installation.

On many concrete products, that are made by the “shake procedure”, small air pores (so-called “fabrication contingent shake pore”) can be visible. This does not decrease the quality and usagee capacity of these products. All technical characteristics (water ingress, frost resistance, stability) of the products remain sound. Furthermore, a readily rough surface increases the ease of handling and may prevent landslide potential.

In the supplied products, an average colour-play is always desired. Our concrete stone products are made from natural mineral elements, therefore colour deviations or structure variations are possible and quite normal. In larger areas, we recommend therefore the mixing of products out of different packs and/or pallets so that an optimal colour-play is achieved.

In all cement bound products, temporary efflorescences may arise. They are easily outlined as a white coating at the surface. Such efflorescences represent no reduction of the product quality and disappear through weathering (rain, wind) as a general rule after a short period of time. Efflorescences are caused in the natural substantiation process of the concrete by local water and foreign water. When the water evaporates, Calcium-hydroxide is transported to the surface, which when in contact with carbon dioxide crystallizes to a grayish Calcium-carbonate. After installation, damp edges could also appear on the products. Herewith it concerns moisture rising out of the substructure material. These dark edges will disappear quickly and resume normal appearance.

In the winter, please scatter no salt because it could damage the surfaces of the products.
